Tie Down 86069 Side Mount Spare Tire Carrier

The Tie Down 86069 Spare Tire Carrier is a durable and versatile carrier that fits most trailers. This carrier fits all trailer frames up to 8 inches high and is adjustable to fit 4, 5, and 6 lug wheels. The 8069 Spare Tire Carrier features a heavy duty welded steel construction that's hot dipped galvanized for lasting protection. Carriage bolts and lug nuts needed to mount tire to carrier are included.

How to Install the Tie Down 86069 Spare Tire Carrier

Using the spare tire carrier and spare tire as a guide, determine a suitable mounting location on the trailer frame.
Slide bolt through front (top) tire carrier, over the frame and through the mounting bracket. Use the bolt pattern that fits closest to the frame.
Loosely mount with washers and nuts provided. Repeat for the opposite mounting bracket.
Using the spare tire to determine the correct holes to use, place the carriage bolts provided for mounting the spare tire in the holes of the rectangular plate. Bolt heads should be on the back side of the tire carrier. Secure bolts with "star" washers.
Check position of the tire mount for proper clearance with the spare tire before tightening bolts.
Once position is determined tighten all (4) mounting bolts/nuts.
Mount spare tire and tighten lug nuts.
